Last night’s Golden Globes brought out some of the best fashion trends we will most likely see throughout 2012. Fashion’s night out also brought out some of the worst and weirdest wardrobe choices I’ve seen on the red carpet in a while. Here are my choices for best and worst dressed.
Angelina Jolie– I literally gasped when I saw her and Brad walk onto the red carpet. Champagne was a HUGE trend this year and Angie rocked the look. Her Atelier Versace gown with folded red neckline, matching clutch and red lipstick made the look complete and glam.
Reese Witherspoon– The recent newlywed surprised the audience with a complete va-va-voom look in a red Zac Posen gown and big tousled locks. The sweetheart neckline and mermaid bottom looked beautiful and sexy on the presenter.
Sofia Vergara– Take a look at the Modern Family actress, she is just stunning! The sleek hair was the perfect choice with the lovely mermaid Vera Wang gown and Harry Winston bling. Just beautiful.
Rooney Mara– A lot of people hated this dress, but forget them. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star stayed true to herself and even acted a bit nervous last night talking to Ryan Seacrest! She killed it with her first red carpet at the Golden Globes in a black, avant garde Nina Ricci gown. I wish she did a little something different with her hair, but I think she’s just happy to be rocking the sleek look after filming.
Nicole Richie– I was wowed by Nicole when she was being interviewed by E! The metallic Julien Macdonald dress and the fun high ponytail made this whole look stand out.
Jessica Biel– What the heck was she wearing and where was her engagement ring? Is she even engaged to the former NSYNC star? The long-sleeved lace Elie Saab gown didn’t do it for the actress’ athletic bod and dark hair. This dress would be better suited for an actress who was maybe 20 years older.
Madonna– Ugh! The metallic, cap sleeved Reem Acra gown was too tight and too bushy at the bottom for the Material Queen. Also, you’re still wearing the black lace fingerless gloves? C’mon, you’re 53.
Frieda Pinto– What is it with actresses not dressing their age this year?? Frieda is so beautiful and unless she’s pregnant, there is no reason for her to be wearing this frock. Navy and dark blue was another hot color on the carpet this year, but this one give the star no shape and is really just a boring gown.
Zooey Dechanel– The emerald-bright custom Prada, side-burned hairdo and metallic makeup was one too many things going on for the New Girl star. I did enjoy the Tuxedo nail art, maybe she should’ve worn a tuxedo instead?
